Good news!  There is hope and I can help you with that.  I practice a form of therapy that uses evidence-based treatment methods to better overcome your unique challenges such as anxiety, depression, habits and addictions or emotional eating/binge eating disorder.  These methods will help you get better faster and will arm you with the tools that you will be able to use on your own and to prevent future relapses.

I have taken a special interest in working with teens/adolescents who I find are quick to make changes and adaptations in their lives.  This means focusing on WHAT it is you want to change, understanding WHY you want to change, then together we create the HOW to do this.  My specialty areas of focus are anxiety, depression (low self-esteem), habits and addictions (including procrastination), and emotional eating / binge eating disorder.


My journey

 

My name is Debbie Tabin and I am a lifelong learner in the area of mental health and counselling, beginning with a Bachelors in Social Work, a Masters Degree specializing in Health and specialized training in TEAM-CBT - a cognitive behavioural approach developed by Dr. David Burns, best selling author of "Feeling Good" and "Feeling Great". I also have focused training, working with adolescents and older adults.

I have a passion for working with people, especially teens, who are experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, troublesome habits or addictions.  It’s hard for teens/adolescents to find an effective therapist that demonstrates understanding and empathy for their unique situations.  I love working with this unique population and believe that if you are willing to work hard together, I have the tools (over 100 different methods) to help you see the results and changes that you are longing for.

Successful therapy happens when you connect with someone who empathizes with you and your unique situation and supports you in focusing on the changes you want to create.
